Transportation Analyst
Location: Decatur, IL
Travel: Up to 5%

Job Summary
The Transportation Analyst supports day-to-day transportation and logistics operations by providing technical and administrative support to ensure efficient movement of materials and shipments. This role focuses on tracking transportation activities, maintaining accurate shipment and invoice records, verifying documentation, and communicating schedules and logistics issues across teams. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, organized, and thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing logistics environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring transportation accuracy, operational efficiency, and effective coordination across supply chain stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and report transportation activities, costs, and expenditures across multiple transportation modes
- Verify shipping documents, invoices, and checklists for completeness and accuracy
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, freight costs, and logistics transactions
- Communicate shipping and receiving schedules to internal stakeholders
- Identify and escalate transportation or logistics issues to appropriate teams
- Support transportation operations through coordination, organization, and follow-through
- Ensure compliance with established logistics processes and documentation standards

Preferred Skills
- Experience in transportation, logistics, shipping, or supply chain operations
- Familiarity with shipment tracking systems or ERP/logistics platforms
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environments
- Exposure to freight cost tracking, invoicing, or transportation reporting
- Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field
Summary Pay Range:
$72,360.00 - $108,540.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
